Upcoming Release: New song 'Rename Me' to be released on Dec 26

The Hominid is due to release a new song online on December 31st. 'Rename Me' is a second track from The Hominid's upcoming album.

Rename Me deals with the thoughts and emotions of someone as they undertake a fundamental transition in their life, providing a cathartic experience of rediscovery. The evocative style still relies on The Hominid's distinctive deep-toned, driving guitar-work, although the sound of Rename Me differs from The Hominid's other works since it incorporates acoustic guitar but is without any bass, to reflect the mood of the track.

Upcoming Release: New song 'Straightened Helix' to be released on May 31!

A full song from the upcoming album Prison of Mind (working title) is set to be released on May 31. Much of the song has already been captured in a home recording studio, but mixing and mastering are still taking place. The new song, entitled Straightened Helix, is six minutes long and will be available free on Myspace and thehominid.com. The new song will be a closer representation of the style and sound of The Hominid's latest work, and includes vocals, although it is the only track to date to feature synthesizers. Because the track has not been recorded in a professional studio, it will be considered a rough cut. Get ready!

A demo track, entitled Wasteland, has been uploaded to the site. The track was specifically written for the Internet, designed to be listened to whilst browsing the site. This instrumental track features twin guitar parts panned to the left and right, which are best appreciated using headphones, as well as crushing synthesized drums and bass. Unlike other music by The Hominid, this song features a preset drum pattern, which inspired the song. Guitar tab for the song can be found here.
